BEST PICTURE AWARD: An activity for ESL learners!
BEST PICTURE AWARD – An activity for ESL learners!
You will find an engaging activity for ESL learners to practice cinema skills, including writing synopses and exploring the Academy Awards for "Best Picture"!
The activity includes the following components:
1. Instructions and links for the teacher.
2. A worksheet on Titanic.
3. A worksheet on Oppenheimer.
4. Two versions of each worksheet to ensure that all students can participate. One version has multiple-choice questions while the other version has open-ended questions.
5. A worksheet on how to write a movie synopsis.
6. A writing activity where students imagine and write the synopsis of a film based on one of ten given titles (all made up).
This activity requires students to be able to use the simple past and simple present tenses but also to read longer texts. They should be high intermediate learners or above. For French ESL students, I suggest pupils from 4e/3è or lycée.
