THE ROARING TWENTIES – A complete unit for ESL students!

This unit is for ESL students to help them read and understand the book The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

WARNING: you need the Penguin Readers Edition (level 3) to use these worksheets!

I use this unit with my pupils of 4ème LCE (the equivalent in France of the American 8th grade but it’s a special class mostly based on English-speaking culture, not grammar). I could use it with “normal” 4ème (8th-graders) or 3ème too (the equivalent in France of the American 9th grade).

If you want to, you could use my unit on The Roaring Twenties before this unit to teach your students about this time period, prohibition, bootleggers, etc – but it’s not compulsory.
