CHRISTMAS CARDS – An activity for ESL learners!

This activity was designed to help you work on a British Christmas tradition: Christmas cards!

You will find:

• A listening exercise on the tradition of Christmas cards (and the link to the authentic audio file);
• A listening and watching exercise on how to write Christmas cards (and the link to the shortened video file);
• A reading exercise on messages in Christmas cards and who they could be addressed to (parents, teacher, classmate…);
• Seven Christmas cards to print and hand out to your students for them to write a Christmas card to the person of their choice;
• And an eighth card if you’d rather they illustrate their card and make it more personal!

This one-hour activity is suitable for all ESL students, regardless of their level of proficiency, and can be conducted as the final class before the Christmas break.

The worksheets and the key are included – you need to print and copy them for your students and you’re ready to go!
